I want to help you celebrate and remember this special time in your life These pre-baptism sessions are typically for members of my faith - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm happy to offer free sessions for special milestones in other faiths as well - just contact me and tell me about your special day!
Sometimes printed announcements or invitations are sent out to friends and family to announce the event and invite them to attend the baptism and/or a special celebration. Sometimes announcements are posted on social media.
Sometimes slideshows play while the child is getting changed after the baptism which may include some of the special baptism photos.
Sometimes photos are displayed at the baptism and/or special celebration following.
Sometimes children have scrapbooks, baby books (or a hard drive of special photos :)) to help remember special events in their lives.
Wearing a special white baptism dress or white shirt with a special suit to the baptism or to church following baptism has gained popularity recently, however, there is no need to purchase any special clothing for a baptism (or baptism photos :)) A totally optional tradition.
During the actual baptism, children won't even wear their special outfits, but will change into a white jumpsuit that will be provided to them. The white baptismal clothing is symbolic of purity and cleanliness.
There may be special accessories or props you'd like to include with your baptism photos - mother's wedding jewelry, favorite converse or socks from the surf shop for having a great report card, personalized scriptures, etc.
Children are to wait to be baptized until they are old enough to understand the difference between right and wrong and when they are old enough to be accountability for their actions and decisions.
A CTR ring stands for "Choose The Right". CTR rings are reminders to make good choices and follow Jesus Christ.
The Bible and the Book of Mormon teach of Jesus Christ and help love, service, righteousness and how to be happy.
To follow the example of Jesus Christ and keep His commandments.
I started getting asked to do baptism photo sessions as regular paid sessions and they were just awesome experiences! I loved getting to spend one on one time with the children and really getting to know them and their amazing families! I thought it would be fun to offer them for free to everyone in my ward (and surrounding wards, stakes and anyone who wants to travel!) so that all the children would have a chance to feel special. Not everyone has a budget for baptism photos, and that's totally okay!
They are close by home, quick, easy, fun for everyone and help me channel my inner 8 year old self that loves to run around and play in the flowers and make beautiful things 🙂
There is limited availability for these sessions and it's best to schedule them as soon as possible. I have a little more flexibility with these during my non-peak times and often times, these will get reserved a year or more in advance to hold a spot.
